Our School

Neil Armstrong Elementary is committed to providing a safe and supportive learning environment for the children in our community. We want them to enjoy coming here to learn—and the only way to do that is to care deeply about them. Our teachers and staff are dedicated to the individual attention of each and every child. The mission of Neil Armstrong Elementary is to address each student's individual needs with a rigorous, relevant curriculum, infused with the 21st Century Skills needed to be successful in today's world, provided in a safe and supportive learning environment.

Neil Armstrong is one of North Scott’s five elementary schools with an enrollment of approximately 375 students.  We serve students in 4-year-old preschool up through 6th grade.  We have either two or three sections at each grade level with an average class size of 20 students.  Neil Armstrong has a full-time guidance counselor,  full-time teacher librarian, and a school nurse.

We offer services for students with special needs high or low. The school is named in honor of Neil Armstrong, one of our nation’s first astronauts to travel in space.  It was first occupied in the fall of 1976. Neil Armstrong is located in Park View not far from Scott County Park.
